What We Believe

Westside Presbyterian Church is a local congregation of the Presbyterian Church of the USA (PCUSA for short).

What we believe and how we live out our faithfulness to God are not dictated by a single person or group. Rather, they are communal endeavors. God speaks through all of God's people, and so our church and denomination operate by electing representatives, forming committees, and much voting.

At Westside, we follow the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, not only as Savior, but as our teacher as well. Jesus taught about loving God, loving those around us, and even loving God's creation. No person is unwanted or unwelcome as they seek God.

Bible Study

A Hebrew saying goes, "A single day devoted to the Torah outweighs 1,000 sacrifices." The Torah is the first 5 books of the Bible, sacred to Hebrews. For Christians, the entire Scripture is sacred, and its study does indeed outweigh 1,000 sacrifices! So we take the study of Scripture very seriously. Join us On Sunday before worship or on Wednesday evening to learn more about your faith and be engaged with the story of God with the community at Westside.

Sunday Morning Bible Study, 10:00am

Before worship, we are currently studying though Samuel and Kings. Grab coffee and a pastry and wrestle with us through some of the most character-driven stories of scripture. It is kindof awesome.

Lenten Bible Study - Race and Justice, 7:00pm, Wednesdays during Lent

Join us at the home of Bill and Ann Rushing,  3905 Willow Bend Road, 76116, for a Lenten Bible study where we discuss issues of race and justice, from the scripture to today. If you have missed some, don't let it trouble you. The discussions are still going to be awesome and blow your mind. You may even learn something.
